The Fjords Team

Fjords is a small, independent team behind a handful of focused guide sites - on pets, plants, fishing, hunting, and living a little more self-sufficiently. We're not a faceless content mill, and we don't pretend to be world-leading experts. We dig into each topic properly, test what we reasonably can, write in plain language, and we're upfront when something is a judgment call or when you should really ask a professional - your vet, a local expert, or your own eyes on the ground. Different sites, one team, one rule: tell you what we'd actually want to know ourselves.

On Anglervale, that's our fishing desk - everything from the first cast to cleaning and cooking the catch, with no tall tales.

How we work

• We research properly. We read the sources, cross-check them, and dig well past the first page of results before we write a word.
• We test what we reasonably can. Where it makes sense we try the gear, grow the plant, tie the knot or cook the catch - and tell you what actually happened.
• We write plainly. No padding, no hype, no twelve paragraphs before the answer. We lead with what you came for.
• We defer to the pros. For anything that touches health, safety or the law, we say so plainly and point you to a vet, a local expert, or the official rules. We're a starting point, not the last word.

The name is a nod to the clean, unhurried north - roughly how we like our advice: clear, practical, and free of noise.
